Purpose of the Role:

Delivery Services is the department of the Group IS function responsible for the analysis, development, testing, integration and strategic direction of all IT related projects within the group. It operates in a complex stakeholder environment with tight deadlines and a constantly changing agenda.

This role will ensure best practise project management techniques; projects engagement and change processes are implemented and adhered to throughout the department.

This role will also be responsible for the tactical day-to-day aspects of discovery, validating, documenting and delivering business projects.

The project management aspect will require this role to liaise with the Group Project Management Office (PMO) with the departmental programme manager to plan, assign and over see the successful delivery of the Delivery Services projects.

Role Dimensions:

• Reports to the Head of Delivery Services.
• Close liaison with Technical Officer Role; Departmental Programme Manager; Business Process Owners; Application Analysts and Developers; IT Infrastructure Specialists and Support Team.
• External suppliers & partners as appropriate
• Occasionally required to work out of hours (late nights / weekends)

Principal Accountabilities:

• Lead department analysis activities and provide significant contribution to the development of the business cases.
• Set up, deploy and govern adherence to the analysis framework based on standard techniques and methodologies.
• Advise and make amendments to the project management framework base on standard methodologies and work closely with the departmental programme manager.
• Perform all aspects of analysis, including requirements gathering, process analysis, business case and functional specification development.
• Perform all aspects of project management in line with PMO methodologies, ensuring best practice, including ensuring scope is clearly defined, testing is supported and hand over to support is consistent
• Assign and coordinate project team activities, ensuring projects are on schedule and within budget
• Coach business systems team in analysis and project management framework and techniques. Ensure these frameworks are implemented and administered.
• Maintain standards for project reporting and documentation.
• Maintain a level of technical speciality on one or many of the internal business systems and work closely with the group technical officer and group enterprise architect in defining strategic direction of these systems.
• Where required provide a level of hands on support with the information systems team.
